New Product Posted on 9 Mar 20:41 , 0 comments

Today we added our new gluten free Bogie Bites to our Treats by T line. We we're waiting for the labels to get back from the printers, so we could package treats and get them ready for our event on saturday. Bogie watched me carefully as to make sure that I didn't accidently drop one on the floor(he wishes). I had a couple left over after bagging and someone got a few treats. I love how he picks his spot out in the kitchen. He lays right in front of the refridgerator so he can see what is going on in the kitchen. Smart dog!

Tom and I have a big craft show in Rosemount,MN this saturday so we are getting things ready. I baked regular Bogie Bites all day and the house smelled delicious, love that hint of cinnamon in the recipe. Now our customers will have a choice of Bogie Bites, Original or Gluten Free...everyone loves a choice.

Every saturday for the past month we have been packing up the ghost pepper jam, the smoked peach habanero, the bogie bites and the beer bacon brittle and carting them off to craft shows. We have had such wonderful reception from new customers and our returning customers that were delighted that we were back.

Those of you spoiling your dogs and those of you buying for your grand dogs have made our new product Bogie Bites a success. I mean who wouldn't want an all natural dog treat? I have had some requests for grain free dog treats, and I am happy to say that beginning in 2016 we will have them available for purchase. I have yet to come up with a name for the gluten free dog treats maybe GF Bogie Bites?

Just for fun this time of year we offered a Beer Bacon Brittle, people were surprised with how delicious it was, and who doesn't love bacon! We can now say we have a little something for every member of your family. This product also has no preservatives so we decided to make it a seasonal item.

Merry Christmas everyone, and thank you for your orders and re orders.

The sweet smell of peppers Posted on 24 Aug 09:06 , 0 comments

We have exciting news! We picked our first batch of ghost peppers, which amounted to about 10 good sized peppers. Yesterday was a cool 65 degree day and we set our minds to making our first batch of jam. A lot of times we use our sundays for cooking things together, this sunday we knocked out 82 jars of ghost pepper jam....delicious.

Ready? Go! Posted on 16 Aug 11:42 , 0 comments

We have our first red pepper as of August 12th, they are turning a few weeks earlier than last year thanks to the beautiful weather we have had this year. Yesterday was a scorcher at 91 degrees, everyone else is miserable, but Tom and I are smiling and thinking good pepper weather. Now I just need a little patience and let a few more of the peppers turn a deep red, so we can make our first batch of the year. It won't be long now.

It's going to be a bumper crop! Posted on 28 Jul 09:08 , 0 comments

Wow! is all we can say when looking at our garden this year. We were able to plant more ghost peppers this year, due to Tom building a new garden bed. We have plenty of blossoms and plenty of peppers growing. The peppers are still green and will have to change colors to red, we are thinking the later part of August.  Last year here in Minnesota,we got a freeze around mid September. So we are hoping to get more peppers earlier, with more plants growing. Grow peppers grow! While everyone else is complaining about the hot humid weather, Tom and I look at each other with a smile and say "Great pepper growing weather". Stay tuned.

Today we woke up to a kitchen smelling like peaches. The peaches are finally ripe that we're sitting on the  counter. Ahhh time to fire up the grill and smoke/grill the peaches for the smoked peach habanero jam.  What a beautiful afternoon for making jam.

We have been busy around here. The introduction to our Bogie Bites was perfect timing. The ghost peppers are growing, but not yet ready to pick. The Peaches are on their way from georgia, however we will be  waiting for peaches to ripen in order to make the smoked peach habanero jam. So with all the waiting for fruit to ripen gives us the perfect opportunity to make our all natural homemade dog treats Bogie Bites.
